*from certified organic farming A wild-collected precious plums! The greengage received its name from the French queen Claudia who lived in the 16th century, and then translated she was called the "Reine Claude" (Reineclaude), and she was also known as Reneklode. It is generally the precious plums and belongs to the rose family. It is closely related to the plums, prunes and yellow plums. The greengage originally comes from Asia Minor, demonstrably it was cultivated around 2,500 years ago in Greece. In the 2nd century BC it came to Italy. Over the centuries, through hybridisations, many different varieties were developed. Our organic greengage comes from the pristine slopes of the Pamir plateau of Uzbekistan. This is an area where neither pesticides nor biocides were used. They grew there on wild trees, the thorny twigs and branches are classic for the wild shape. The fruits are between 3 to 5 centimeters in size, spherical in shape and greenish yellow in colour. Likewise the yellow-green pulp is sweet in taste and has got intense aroma and slightly spicy flavour. Our greengages are harvested when fully developed, then washed and divided in halves by hand. Subsequently, they are dried in the sun on solar dryers (sun drying), slowly and gently. This ensures that all the important ingredients, vitamins and the full flavour are retained. As the plums also contain the greengage easy digestive substances. Our organic greengage is a 100% natural product that has been read carefully several times that only the mature and best fruits come on to the market.
