The figs were apparently cultivated before agriculture, it has been verified as agricultural cultivation since 10th Century BC.It was a symbol of prosperity and peace. It was even considered to have aphrodisiac properties in ancient Greece. Our dried organic (organic) figs are obtained from the Izmir mountains of Turkey. This area is ideal for organic figs, since Fig Flies are rarely found on in this altitude. Neither pesticides, herbicides nor biocides are used on the mountain plantations. Of course, our figs are untreated and available only in the best organic quality. The fig trees have an average height of 3 to 4 meters. Mostly, the tree is broader than higher, since its branches are very close to the ground and grow extensively apart from each other. The leaves of the fig tree are very large, therefore they provide shade. Sometimes for this reason, fig trees are planted in parks for providing shade. The fruit of figs are round, oval to pear-shaped and have a diameter of up to 8 cm.The skin of fig is very thin and the color may range from yellowish, green, to brown and deep purple. In contrast, the flesh is pink to dark red and surrounded by small seeds. Our dried organic figs are fully ripened on the trees and then gathered with the help of of tarpaulins, which are laid on the floor. This ensures that the figs retain their complete flavor and the unripe figs are fully developed. After gathering the figs, they are gently  dried on grills in the sun (sun drying / solar drying).
