Today, it is generally known that, it is healthy and rich in Vitamin C. Recent studies have determined the antioxidant capacity of a raw apple is approximately 2500 µmol TE, whereas the dried apple contains 6681 µmol TE (Trolox equivalents) per 100 g (ORAC value).Moreover, the apple has an astringent, laxative and antibacterial effect. Apple is also good for the stomach as it eases it after a heavy meal. In contrast, the fiber in apple contains a high amount of pectin, an ancient household remedy for intestinal problems. Thus, the apple is not only extremely tasty but also extremely high in its composition.The apple botanically belongs to the Rosaceae family. The original native country of the cultivated apple is probably Asia. How and when it was transported to Central Europe is not known. The most likely explanation of distribution is that, it was transported by the merchants on trade routes such as, via the Silk Road from Asia to Europe. Our organic apples originate from the pristine mountain slopes, from the Pamir plateau of Uzbekistan, an area which has never come in contact with pesticides or biocides. The specialty of this region is that, the apple trees can still be found in their wild pure form.The wild apples are slightly smaller and slightly more acidic than the conventional apple.When fully ripe (all bioactive ingredients are fully developed), the apples are manually harvested, then washed, freed from skin and kernel and finally carefully cut into rings. They are then gently and slowly dried in the sun with our own solar dryers (sun drying).This ensures that all the essential ingredients and vitamins along with the flavor are not damaged and completely retained. Our soft organic apple rings are 100% natural product.In Uzbekistan, our apples are taken care by gentle labor and the cultivation, harvesting as well as drying (solar drying) is undertaken by our subsidiary Silk Road Organic (organic) Foods. Uzbekistan lies in Central Asia, along the famous Silk Road. Silk Road Organic (organic) Food has its main processing site near Samarkand and specializes in the production of organic (eco) dried fruits and organic nuts.
